Artifacts  are recombined matter, such as bricks, BIC pens and microchips. Some of the more beautiful types of human work are ones that are both signal and artifact. But then, physicists may argue that distinctions between matter and energy are ultimately an illusion. In this web log, we will point out, talk a little about and sometimes illustrate some compelling and just plain interesting signals and artifacts.
